Presidents-elect Training Seminar/Secretaries-elect Training Seminar (PETS/SETS)
After much consideration, Rotary District 5650 has decided to end our relationship with Heartland PETS. We will no longer require Presidents-elect and Secretaries-elect to attend training in Salina, KS. We will hold our own Presidents-elect and Secretaries-elect Training Seminar (PETS/SETS) in Lincoln, NE on March 23, 2013 from 8:30am – 4:00pm at the Country Inn and Suites at 5353 N. 27th St.

Rotary International requires that all Presidents-elect attend a district or multi-district PETS before taking office. If you cannot attend the District 5650 PETS/SETS training, you can attend any PETS in the US. Your club dues included the registration fee for both the Club President-elect and Club Secretary-elect to attend this training. If either the President-elect or Secretary-elect from a club cannot attend the District 5650 PETS/SETS, it is strongly encouraged that you send another representative from your club. There are no refunds for this registration fee. A President-elect choosing to attend a different district’s PETS must cover the registration fee for that training.

GRANTS MANAGEMENT SEMINARS
With the Rotary Foundation’s move to Future Vision in 2013-14, the grant programs as we know them will no longer exist. There will be three types of grants offered, “Global Grants,” “District Grants,” and “Packaged Grants.” Before a Rotary Club can apply for any sort of grant, at least two (2) members of the club must participate in a Grants Management Seminar. We currently have four Grants Management Seminars scheduled as follows:
February 16, 2013 – Carol Joy Holling Center, Ashland, NE – 2:00pm – 5:00 pm (following the District Team Training Seminar)
April 27, 2013 – Quarry Oaks Golf Club, Ashland, NE – 1:00pm – 4:00pm (following the District Assembly)
May 17, 2013 – Scott Conference Center, Omaha, NE – 8:30am – 11:30am (prior to the District Conference)
August 17, 2013 – Quarry Oaks Golf Club, Ashland, NE – 2:00pm – 5:00pm (following the District Foundation Seminar)

DISTRICT ASSEMBLY
DG Dick has decided to schedule the District Assembly apart from the District Conference. The District Assembly will be on April 27, 2013 at Quarry Oaks Golf Club in Ashland, NE from 8:30am – 12:00pm. All club officers and committee chairs are encouraged to attend this event, and other club members are also welcome.

DISTRICT CONFERENCE
The District Conference will be held at the Scott Conference Center in Omaha, NE on May 17th & 18th, 2013. The Scott Conference Center is located at 6540 Pine St. More details to follow as agenda is confirmed. Watch the District Website and Newsletter for details.

FOUNDATION SEMINAR
The Foundation Seminar will be held on August 17, 2013 at Quarry Oaks Golf Club in Ashland, NE from 8:30am – 1:00pm.

These are all important seminars, and we realize it’s a pretty heavy calendar with the addition of Grants Management Seminars. We hope that each club is represented at these events. Once we are closer to the events, registration forms will be distributed. The calendar is always available at http://www.rotarydistrict5650.org as well. For now, “SAVE THE DATES”!
